Therapy is a partnership between the therapist and client that allows for exploration, growth, and learning in a safe place to express your thoughts, beliefs and emotions. After 15 years in the mental health field, I have learned that everyone experiences difficult times at some point. It is my belief that we all need someone to help us navigate this life, and I am honored to be that someone for you.
As the child of a Vietnam Veteran with PTSD, I have experienced the long lasting effects of trauma and understand the impact on our heroes and their family members; including First Responders. Untreated trauma, not just Military related, can lead to depression, anxiety, addictions, unhealthy relationships, suicidal thoughts/behaviors, and so much more. Sometimes it can feel like you are alone in the darkness. I will walk with you in the darkness until you find the light again.
I have a Master's in Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I have experience working with Military Service Members and their Families and recently completed the Clinical Military Counselor Certification. Additionally, I have worked with adults and adolescents with psychiatric and addiction issues. Depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues, relationship/marriage problems, addiction issues, suicidal thoughts, stress and life pressures are worked through using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and other therapeutic techniques that best fit each individual and their goals in a compassionate, non-judgmental environment.
I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
My experience enables me to offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychological care. I treat a number of mental health disorders, and provide a safe, neutral ground to individuals, families, and couples.
My focus is to help individuals heal and become aware of their inner strengths, which is achieved by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.
